Giacomo Fugazza’s Fugazza Farm, located in Gragnano Trebbiense (PC), is now recognised as one of the most advanced livestock centres in Europe.

The complex comprises three new structures built by Rota Guido:

• a first structure of 1,800 m², with a three-hinged arch, housing an 80-stall rotary milking parlour;
• a second structure of 2,590 m², dedicated to the waiting area and separation pens;
• a third barn for replacement stock, covering over 10,000 square metres.

The farm was also the first in Europe to adopt an innovative positive pressure ventilation system, a technology that improves air quality in the housing areas, contributing to the animals’ welfare and health.

The Fugazza Farm has complemented its new livestock facilities with a resource management model focused on sustainability and the circular economy. A 2 MW biogas plant, comprising four digesters, was built in 2011 and is now operating at full capacity.

This decision confirms the farm’s commitment to integrating its production activities with renewable energy solutions, making the most of the farm’s resources with a view to the circular economy and sustainability.
